Overview

Through the Learning and Teaching stream, ATTEN responds directly to the evolving needs of teacher educators, preservice teachers, and the broader education sector. Central to ATTEN’s approach is the integration of research-informed teaching, ensuring that university programs and professional learning initiatives are grounded in contemporary evidence and responsive to national curriculum priorities. Our vignettes, frameworks, and teaching models showcase best practice in Technologies Education.

In alignment with the Australian Council of Deans of Education (ACDE), ATTEN’s Learning and Teaching initiatives demonstrate how academic networks can drive innovation in teacher preparation. By sharing resources, case studies, and exemplars of practice, ATTEN supports educators to design transformative learning experiences that empower all students to become active, ethical, and capable users and creators of technology.

ATTEN leads national conversations on how Technologies Education is taught and learned across Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and school contexts. Our work in Learning and Teaching focuses on building teacher capability, strengthening curriculum alignment, and supporting educators to engage confidently with digital and design technologies in creative, ethical, and inclusive ways.
